While I am not a religious man, I still admire the wonderful historic buildings and architecture of the UK, and indeed many other countries. It amazes me to think of how important the beliefs of the time must have been to have led people to challenge themselves to build even bigger and more majestic monuments to their God.
York Minster is a fine example, especially on a sunny day, and was built in the fourteenth century. No building in York is allowed to be taller than the Minster. It is great that it still stands tall today.
