To the South West of Melbourne, en route to Adelaide, lies the Great Ocean Road. I had some reservations about visiting a stretch of road as I was slightly disappointed with another such tourist route (in California) previously. Thankfully, there was some really lovely scenery here.
Along the way, the Twelve Apostles rock formations are quite a sight, we saw wild koalas, wallabies, whales (in a nursery location close to shore) and plenty of sulphur-crested cockatoos. Lorne and Port Fairy were nice bases at either end of the route.
